Implodron Gun
The Implodron Gun is a powerful short-barreled energy pistol whose plasma bolt does not explode like a regular blaster weapon; rather it implodes inwardly upon impact.
The core of the weapon is a cyclotronic accelerator that charges a meson particle to the point where it collapses into a quantum mechanical black hole, which is immediately sheathed in a weak sub-space containment field. The super-dense meson is then discharged from the weapon. At the point of impact the containment field collapses and in the instant it takes the meson’s charge to disperse, all matter within a ten-centimeter diameter implodes into its gravitic field.
The stopping power of the Implodron Gun is quiet a bit greater than other weapons of its size and class. However, because its design is more complex than standard pistols, it has a greater manufacturing cost and is less durable than similar weapons.
Despite its rarity, the Implodron Gun does have a storied history. The notorious outlaw Aruul Telumar favored one, and wanted space pirate Craxtet "Redhand" Zebularr is reputed to have earned his nickname as a result of an Implodron Gun misfire. The HSS Mark II Implodron Gun is the regarded at the most reliable model currently available.
